Stand Up for Father (Ba Ba Xiang Qian Zhong) | Wang Yu plays Zhang Xianyu (unsure of pronouncation), best friend of main character Xiaoyatou. | Stand Up for Father is a show about a man who loses his job and has to take care of his two children. It was shown at 10.30 am on Sundays in early 2004. |
Room in my Heart (Zhen Xin Mi Yu) | Wang Yu plays the abused daughter of Xiaoyan's neighbour. When Xiaoyan sees the abused girl, she remembers her rape six months ago. | Room in my Heart debuts on 16 June 2004 and shows on weekdays starting 9pm. The serial, starring Qi Yuwu, Fiona Xie, Pierre Ng, Chen Hanwei and Belinda Lee, is a show about 5 lovebirds: Zhu Jiankang (Qi Yuwu), Cheng Kaixin (Fiona Chia), Li Jinsheng (Pierre Png), Ding Wenhui (Chen Hanwei) and Ming Xiaoyan (Belinda Lee), who are battling the never-ending problems in their relationships. Room in my Heart bagged three nominations in Star Awards 2004: Best Actor (Qi Yuwu), Best Supporting Actor (Chen Shucheng) and Best Serial. |
A Child's Hope 2 (Hai You Ming Tian Er) | Wang Yu plays Xiuming, an 11-year-old girl with Turner's Syndrome, a disease that affects her hormones and makes her bald, and a mother who overworks and falls ill. | A Child's Hope 2 debuts on 16 June 2004 and shows on weekdays starting 9pm. The serial, the sequel to the ever-popular A Child's Hope, starring Li Nanxing and Jeanette Aw, is about a social worker, Lin Jinghao (Jeanette Aw) and a doctor, Hu Yiming (Li Nanxing) determined to save the lives of critically ill children. A Child's Hope 2 bagged several nominations in Star Awards 2004, including Best Actor (Li Nanxing), Best Actress (Jeanette Aw), Best Serial and Young Talent Award (Xiao Li Yuan and Chen Jiele - sadly Wang Yu is left out.) |
My Mighty In-Laws (Ye Man Qing Jia) | Wang Yu plats Yao Jiaojiao as a child. Jiaojiao is the elder sister of Yao Meimei. In that particular scene, Meimei is expelled from school for fighting (and severly injuring) some schoolmates who teased her, and her father is trying to defend her. | My Mighty In-Laws debuts on 17 November 2004 and shows on weekdays starting 9pm. The serial, starring Zoe Tay, is about the chaos that occurs when Li Yingying (Rui En), the daughter-in-law of a feared underworld figure, Yao Meimei (Zoe Tay), and Fang Zhengde (Vincent Ng), the son of a medical company boss, Fang Chunqiu (Huang Wenyong). |
